Following The Girls Fashion Trends
Girls in their teens and in college are inundated with fashion from their friends and acquaintances. One can say they are immersed in fashion and have to be very fashion conscious to not appear out of touch and to decide what to wear every day.
Here is some advice to help those girls keep up to date with the latest fashion trends.
There are different styles that come out every year. Most designers release at least two collections per year, during fall and spring, while others release four collections – one for every new season. It is really tough being sharp on all those new things considering the different styles that are introduced with all those new collections. Besides, not all styles fit all people.
Even though you would love to wear a particular outfit that looked really good on the model on the runway, it might look pretty odd and out of place when you wear it. The first key to narrowing down your focus is to zoom in on those collections and styles that fit your particular height, weight, and personality type.
If you want to be on the safe side, select one of the classic styles. They rarely go out of fashion. However, girls don’t always like wearing classic clothes so, how can they always be in fashion? A simple way to make girls fashion work for you is to choose from a collection that suits you best. For example, if a particular color suits your skin tone best, you can wear a top of that color with jeans or black pants, which don’t have to be from the same collection.
Accessorizing is another clever way of keeping up with the latest girls fashion without even having to wear clothes from the latest trends. Work with your body’s strong and weak point, and select accessories that will enhance your best features. Nobody is perfect. You need to hide your flaws and enhance your good features, just like those seemingly perfect models that grace the catwalks of the fashion world.
A belt, scarf, hair clips or shoes can make all the difference in looking like an out of touch cave dweller and a hip fashion-conscious urban girl.
Make sure that you know what works for you and then find the fashion news sources that cover new collections and styles that suit you specifically. That way you can always be up to date with the latest girl fashion without suffering from information overload.

Politicians and Fashion Designers Appeal For Change
Politicians, like fashion designers are always on the hunt for exciting new ways to generate mass appeal. Politicians appeal to us to support their causes and legislative agendas, while designers appeal to our senses and desires for new and innovative fashions. Two very different arenas, current politics and fashion coincide because they are both fueled by an image for change. In September 08 IMG presented you with, “Fashion Wins” as the theme for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York Spring 09 international designer showcase of collections.
As Democratic presidential hopeful, Barack Obama, campaigns across America, he is using his very unique political style, image and promise for change to persuade American voters that he should be elected to lead and design a new political make-over for our country. The designers presenting their Spring 09 collections during Fashion Week New York are using their brand name, reputation and creative ingenuity to declare and mandate what we should wear and change into for the coming season.
Get ready for change, as U.S. voters will soon decide who will be their next president in office. Prepare to read reviews of designers, who won over the catwalks of Fashion Week for the Spring 09 season.
Parsons School of Design alum Tracy Reese is a sophisticated designer with the intelligence to understand what the Tracy Reese woman wants to wear. When I need an amazing dress for a cocktail event or a special occasion, I rely on Reese to deliver a frock that is pretty, feminine and chic. Reese’s Spring 09 show was held to a packed crowd in the main Tent of Bryant Park, a step up from last season’s spot in the Promenade. The collection was colorful and dainty, with lace and silk free flowing on the runway. I loved the movement in this collection, each piece felt like a journey of lovers being swept away in the midst of a starry night. This collection had a very romantic vibe. The sound system was even blaring tunes with words like, “Love makes you beautiful.” Many of the pervading colors we saw on the runways for Spring 08 such as purple, green and yellow will be back in full swing next season, as was evident in Reese’s collection. So ladies, do not go overboard by throwing everything out from last season. One accessory trend that I loved was the cascading earrings that models donned and which gave these girly designs just a bit of edge and confidence.
WILLOW, a line based in The Land Down Under, has become synonymous with elegance and contemporary style. Designed by Kit Willow, WILLOW launched at Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week in 03. A regular on the New York fashion week scene since 05, the designer departed from showing in the tents, as she did in February, for a more intimate setting, and showcased at the Altman Building on 18th Street in Chelsea. I chatted with Willow at the presentation and asked her what is the single most pervading design detail one can expect to see in each of her collections, and she confessed, “Draping.” Draping was clearly evident in many of the long flowing evening gowns she presented.
Inspired by the French dance troupe known as the Ballet Russe, the collection was fit for a red carpet star. I am confident that you will definitely catch one of her many celebrity clients, such as Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Katie Holmes, Cate Blanchett or Kate Bosworth sporting pieces from this collection at an awards event. Her spring 09 color palette consisted of off-white, gold, orange, tawny browns and chestnut crèmes, zebra print and geometric prints in violet and saffron. Although the models where just standing, you could ask them to come down off the platform to observe WILLOW’s beauty and craftsmanship up close and personal. The fabric selection was of course made from the finest silk, chiffon, and silk jersey, which gave each garment’s structure added value. I am a huge fan of WILLOW, her aesthetic is just so pleasing, you have to admire her genius.
A designer worthy of immense recognition is b. michael. Known in the industry as ‘New York’s best kept secret,’ b. michael’s career in fashion spans over a decade. His designs appeared in movies, were spotted on the runways of not only New York, but also Beijing and London, featured on and in fashion editorials for high-profile celebrities such as Halle Berry, Beyoncè and Cate Blanchett. b. michael has been a member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) since 1998.
With so many achievements, it is surprising that b. michael is not a household name. But, not to worry, this designer is a man with a plan. His plan for Spring 09 is to have women be seen and gravitate towards crisp and clean lines. The collection showcased a pastel scheme of colors reminiscent of Easter with a splash of polka dots and paisley. A flair for the fabulous, no b. michael collection would be complete without a few long, ‘look at me’ evening gowns. The finale gown pictured right was regally elegant with a timeless silhouette. b. michael is a permanent fixture in the world of fashion, so just learn to love him because he is not going anywhere anytime time soon.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York Spring 2009 (September 5-12, 2008) was an exhilarating and chaotic week of fashion’s finest designers presenting their point of view for the coming season. What will be your point of view of this years political season?

The Urban Fashion Difference
What truly is urban fashion and how does it differ from other women fashion accessories?
To begin with, urban accessories are a cutting edge trend in the fashion world. It has offered brilliant non-traditional innovations in the fashion scene. Like all other fashion styles, it generally changes with the season, though there are urban accessories that are mainstay fashionable in what ever time of year it may be. What makes it different from the women clothing accessories prodded in catwalks is that what shapes urban accessories are sublevel cultures or ethnicities rather than a showcase of a particular fabric.
While urban fashion is associated and rooted with culture, it is not to be mistaken with street fashion or street wear. Both receive partial inclination with youth culture. Women fashion accessories in the urban genre is closely related with hip hop. On the other hand, street wear is deeply influenced by skate boarding or skatewear. It has a more retro and vintage feeling. It incorporates the popularity of old school dresses and vintage sneakers. It was later adapted in Japan receiving a major transformation, thus producing its own variation in the pop culture and youth subcultures – the hippies, punks, skinheads, gothic and more.
The key difference of this fashion is that most urban accessories are designed to work comfortably and functionally through urban activities. Unlike the traditional feminine fashion which showcase a bit more stiff, neat and tidy eloquence, urban wear as women clothing accessories is all practical. Urban accessories need to be light. They are often simple but edgy clothing. And at time may include shout out messages as innovation. This fashion is designed for practicality, durability and for visual aesthetics as well.
As a cutting edge trend in fashion, urban has developed a unique taste that differs from city to city world wide. In Japan, urban styles for women fashion accessories are often tight. Most clothes are endowed with accents of lace or prints. Long T’s has also been popular as edgy or feminine dresses. Japan has even gone effectively too unconventional producing styles of extraordinary mixes. They blend the cute, formal and casual wears with great success. They also managed to introduce a type of casual cosplay in the fashion trend.
The common thing in urban accessories is it requires adding an ethnic element due to the different culture of large populations over the globe. This fashion must respect the dressing styles of every culture. There also are cultures that embraced others and have taken them in their clothing. A way they incorporate this element is by wearing different size accents and ethnic ornaments of shirts with culturally inclined prints.
Overall, urban women fashion accessories have no rules. They are utterly dependent on the needs of the wearer. It is how your fashion applies to your life style. As culture has definitely transformed urban accessories, they tend to adapt the requirements of a specific area at a specific era. Knowing how urban differs from other fashion is a step forward to being identified as a true urban wearer.
