The Advantage Of Attending A Fashion School
Believe it or not, there is money to be made in fashion. The general public have, over the years become totally obsessed with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. This has encouraged the fashion houses to evolve into a multi billion dollar industry. You can have instant popularity in fashion if you can come up with the right combination of things, (right choice of endorser, right choice of ideas, innovative and creative sense of fashion and the likes).
Of course it will not be easy, the fashion industry is an extremely difficult business to get into. You will need to have a full understanding and knowledge of the industry, and also influences which will provide you with maximum exposure which you need to deliver your creations into the industry. However, becoming a success will really be down to your own brilliance in designing, this is what will give you centre stage.
You may well have the talent. This is something which cannot be taken from you. It is of course, in your own interest to let your talent turn into a passion. But, your talent and skills will not be enough. You will have to be willing to take instruction, this will enable you to hone your special features and direct them specifically towards becoming the best you can be.
This is basically why fashion schools exist and continue to serve your artistic talents. They provide guidance and supplemental training to bring out the artist in you, and to help you achieve your creations. Online fashion schools have been gathering fame in the fashion industry for some time now, however hands on training and face to face instruction still cannot be equalled even by the best online schools.
As you are now considering entering a fashion school, it will be expected that you be knowledgeable enough on the fundamentals of fashion designing and basic awareness on designing. However, it is not expected that the student should be able to produce ramp quality creations initially. Instead, you are expected to bring out the brilliance in simple designs and create concepts that you may have patterned on the works of some great fashion designers or better yet, designs of your own concepts.
Remember that fashion designers can only make a name for themselves in the industry, when they have produced something genuinely creative that can cater for the present fashion scene, while having the originality and good sense of distinction from other fashion trends.
You may not be possess this talent at the moment. But the thing is, a good fashion school could bring out the best in you and in your creations. Initially, you may be producing concepts which will be considered rubbish, but this will change with the good learning you have acquired from a good school.
Some people may contend that even without proper education, an artist can create fashion trends that will be embraced by the public. Yes, that may well be true. But you must remember that there are very few individuals who have made it into the fashion scene with little or no formal study. Besides, even the trends in fashion change. What may have been true before is not likely to be true now. A formal schooling would update you with the most recent trends and the analysis of past styles that have recreated the industry.
A fashion school, like any education establishment will help you seek out your own niche. You may have creative ideas lurking in your mind but these free flowing ideas would be turned into nothing if not properly directed.
Moreover, the experience of instructors in the fashion schools would be passed down to you. Therefore, you are quite unlikely to encounter the same pitfalls they have experienced themselves.

Fashion In Clothes – An Expression Of Emotion
Fashion in clothes has allowed wearers to express emotion or solidarity with other people for millennia. Modern Westerners have a wide choice available in the selection of their clothes. When people who have cultural status start to wear new or different clothes a fashion trend may start. People who like or respect them may start to wear clothes of a similar style.
Design
Designs are difficult to protect in court, because they incorporate elements that are effectively in the “public domain. Designers in turn respond to this obsolescence with new designs. Although tailors and dressmakers were no doubt responsible for many innovations before, and the textile industry certainly led many trends, the History of fashion design is normally taken to date from 1858, when the English-born Charles Frederick Worth opened the first true haute couture house in Paris. Since then the professional designer has become a progressively more dominant figure, despite the origins of many fashions in street fashion.
At the same time there remains an equal or larger range designated (at least currently) ‘out of fashion’. Fashion houses and their associated fashion designers, as well as high-status consumers (including celebrities), appear to have some role in determining the rates and directions of fashion change. Haute Couture designers followed the trend by starting the ready-to-wear and perfume lines, heavily advertised in the magazines that now dwarf their original couture businesses. While brand names and logos are protected, designs are not. Smaller, boutique, designers have lost revenue after their designs have been taken and marketed by bigger businesses with more resources.
Designers
Designers and fashion magazine editors, who hire models, and executives for agencies that represent the young women, are skeptical that the profession can be regulated or monitored. In any given season, we see designers working on similar design themes that define the current mode. Young and unknown designers will be worst off, as they will not be able to afford the lawyers’ fees that will be part of the new price of admission to the industry. Fashion marketing and merchandising professionals are responsible for identifying and creating fashion trends to sell the products created by fashion designers. There are fashion designers who are making history from with innovative designs. New York City is home to some of the biggest designers. Individual designers’ shows are searchable under season and city.
Fashion and accessory designers use their knowledge of design principles, techniques, and tools to create sketches and models of original garments, shoes, handbags and other fashion accessories. Men wore loin-clothes while women were bare to the waist. As a result we find more and more men and women adopting the swadeshi clothes and designs. As of late the industry has started to use more realistic models so that they can defend themselves, but many are saying that clothes simply look better on skinny models, and it’s only about what the clothes look like, not the person inside of them.

Fashion Design Programs
The fashion industry is a fierce business. The cliche “One day you’re in, and the next day you’re out” really holds true to this trade. Numerous fashion designers have already come and gone but if you will notice, those who are still out there have reliable, solid collections. For example, designers such as Tom Ford have gone from one fashion house to another, making Gucci an in-demand brand in the 90s. Betsy Johnson has created hip, funky, and crazy designs that are still making waves in the fashion industry, regardless of the fact that they are not really wearable.
Fashion design schools play a major role in shaping and honing the next Betsy Johnson and Tom Ford of the fashion industry. Programs set by the school board every school year usually determine if the students can cope with the real world. Internships to famous fashion houses are also included in these programs so student can apply what they have learned in fashion to school to the real fashion scenario.
The International Academy of Fashion program was described by critics as a comprehensive, technical and very demanding. The fashion curriculum provides a solid learning program with a specific goal of developing in their students creative individual thinking and a sense of uniqueness as well as preparing them for a professional career. An associate in science degree in fashion design and marketing or a bachelor of fine arts degree in fashion design and marketing are usually the choices offered to students.
The American Intercontinental University, on the other hand, has an Association of Arts degree in fashion design that fashion experts say is designed to inspire the individuals to construct innovative and edgy designs. Computer skills in designing are also taught so students can combine traditional techniques with computer-assisted designs. An association of arts degree in fashion marketing is another program offered to talented and fashionable students. The programs in this curriculum offer teach the inner operations of retail and wholesale fashion, market analysis, and evaluation of the production needs of the fashion industry.
