How does an “Apple” pick the perfect swimsuit? I’m sure you know we don’t mean a fruit. An Apple is one of the common body types. How do you determine if your shape is an Apple? Your bust and hip measurements are the answer. A 3″ or greater difference between the bust the hips will confirm it.

To look like an hourglass, what kind of swimsuits should you purchase? Finding one that will de-emphasize your bust and draw the eyes down to your bottom, that would work. It’s also important to conside your cup size. In most cases, Apple shapes have larger breasts sizes…C cup, D cup and larger is the norm. So the bikini top must provide both ample support and draw attention away. Sounds very hard. However, it’s not that hard if you know what to look for.

Apple shapes look good in Halter and Underwire tops. For larger busts, they are the answer for both shape and support. Either remove the padding or purchase Underwire tops without them. You don’t want to appear even larger than you are. That’s emphasizing your bust and we don’t want to do that in this case. There is a special style of Halter called a Banded Halter. This style has a wide fabric “band” going all around under the bust which adds more support than the typical Halter top. Also, de-emphasize by choosing dark solid colors.

Choosing embellishments and lots of fabric on the bottom will help to draw the eyes down there. When we mean fabric, we’re talking about avoiding the tiny string bikinis. Believe it or not, string bikini bottoms actually make your hips look slimmer. More shapely hips are what the Apple shape should look for. Hipster bottoms are better at creating that effect. For color, bright solids and patterns are the ones to choose (a solid color top with a patterned bottom is ideal). And if you can find bottoms with ruffles, ruching, shirring, rhinestones, beads, metal rings, etc…all the better.

So don’t fear or shy away from picking out a real hot bikini or one piece swimsuit.  Whether it’s on the beach, at the pool, or anyplace else, you need to feel great and look confident in your sexy swimwear.
