How does an “Apple” pick the perfect swimsuit? I’m sure you know we don’t mean a fruit. An Apple is one of the common body types. How do you determine if your shape is an Apple? Your bust and hip measurements are the answer. A 3″ or greater difference between the bust the hips will confirm it.

To look like an hourglass, what kind of swimsuits should you purchase? Finding one that will de-emphasize your bust and draw the eyes down to your bottom, that would work. It’s also important to conside your cup size. In most cases, Apple shapes have larger breasts sizes…C cup, D cup and larger is the norm. So the bikini top must provide both ample support and draw attention away. Sounds very hard. However, it’s not that hard if you know what to look for.

Apple shapes look good in Halter and Underwire tops. For larger busts, they are the answer for both shape and support. Either remove the padding or purchase Underwire tops without them. You don’t want to appear even larger than you are. That’s emphasizing your bust and we don’t want to do that in this case. There is a special style of Halter called a Banded Halter. The bikini tops that tie in the front can be altered so that there is the appearance of more curves and cleavage by making the ties a little tighter. You can always add a ruffle or perhaps a bow to give the impression of more. Do not wear tube or bandeau tops as they actually detract from the appearance of a smaller bust.

Under wires are the best way to support larger breasts; however, they do nothing to help downplay the size of your bust. If you want help minimize how large your bust appears, then avoid triangular tops or the smaller ones with no coverage. Also, if you are set on a two piece swimsuit, then avoid a top with slender or small straps, as they do not give adequate support and may actually make breasts appear larger.

If you have a short torso, then make sure the bikini bottom of the swimsuit sits low on your hips and leaves skin showing above the waistline. Then match with a halter top that draws attention to your chest and shoulders. If you have a longer torso, then you should try a suit that is cut higher on the leg to instantly give the impression of added length. Keep in mind that the wrong suit can make someone with a short torso appear extra blocky, whereas the correct one will help elongate the torso.
